Minimize Distractions in the OR

RapidPair enables physicians to quickly and easily allow a “proxy” to review and respond to secure messages on their behalf when they are otherwise occupied (i.e. in the OR, procedure room, etc).

RapidPair minimizes distractions, and requires no changes to physician behavior or staff workflow – allowing providers to focus on patient care.

Operating rooms, procedure rooms, cath labs . . . all locations where physicians cannot interrupt their work to answer a page, a message or a call.

In yesterday’s world, a circulating nurse would read the page to the physician, return a call and issue instructions based on the physician’s wishes.

Today, with the amount of text messaging, both secure and unsecure, this antiquated and inefficient process no longer works.

WHY NOT?

PROBLEM 1

First, the nurse has to find the phone, unlock the phone – using the physician’s (personal) passcode.

PROBLEM 2

Then the nurse has to find the app, scrolling through sometimes personal and sensitive information in the process.

PROBLEM 3

Finally, the nurse has to read the message to the doctor and respond on his/her behalf.

There is no record of who responded, when they responded and what information was shared.

This process is inconvenient and frustrating for physicians and nurses, jeopardizes personal information of BOTH the provider and the patient and can create dangerous distractions and disruptions.

RapidConnect has developed RapidPair (patent pending) to address this issue. RapidPair, enables physicians to quickly and easily allow a “proxy” to review and respond to secure messages on their behalf when they are otherwise occupied. RapidPair can be accessed through a web-based portal from the computer located in the OR or any other computer (not the physician’s personal device). With minimal disruption to the patient or procedure, they can immediately see the message and respond on the provider’s behalf – all under his or her own id. The sender will receive notification that the message was responded to ‘by NAME’ on behalf of “NAME”.

MD Interconnect designed RapidPair to accomplish the following:

  • Require minimal disruption to a physician’s normal workflow
  • Ensure process does not rely on clinicians resetting status each time they enter procedure area
  • Ensure that on-call physicians can be reached at all times
  • Eliminate the need for “proxies” to access a physician’s personal device
  • Ensure rapid, secure communication
